I think just about everybody knew that Patrick had accepted a new position at DAA for next year. He was going to be the IT Integration Specialist and work with grades 3-12. He was very excited and so was the staff. There were big plans ahead and Patrick was averaging about eight meetings a week just to prepare for next year.
Then stuff changed. The school IT Director accepted a position in China, leaving a vacancy at DAA. Patrick has now had his second promotion of the year - IT Director. He's very excited, and a bit nervous, about the position. He may be admin now but his office is in my library. A third grade teacher was going to take Patrick's middle school position but since she's qualified she's now taken the IT Integration position. When the school posted the middle school IT opening last week they joked that whoever filled it would be on the fast track to admin.
Since Patrick is taking on a huge new position, and is technically admin, we had to be back earlier than usual this year. We'll only be in the States for a month this summer. Sorry.
